ExxonMobil implements allocation on US
LLDPE from Beaumont plant
ExxonMobil has put hexene linear low
density polyethylene (LLDPE) made in
its Beaumont, Texas plant on allocation because
of power and feedstock issues stemming from
Hurricane Harvey, according to a letter to
customers obtained on Monday.
Florida fertilizer producers weighing
Irma impacts on US
facilities
While residents of Florida began cleaning up
and assessing damage from Hurricane Irma
over the weekend, fertilizer producers in the
state said on Monday that they are still
weighing the impacts of the tropical system on
their operations.

DowDuPont shifts to larger Spec

The planned break-up of the newly minted
DowDuPont into at least three entities will
become somewhat more complex as businesses with
around $8bn in sales will be transferred from
its Materials Science division to its Specialty

Mexico Alpek halts PTA supply to two
M&G PET plants in LatAm
Alpek has stopped supplying
purified terephthalic acid (PTA) to
Mossi & Ghisolfi
(M&G)-operated polyethylene terephthalate
(PET) plants in Altamira, Mexico, and Suape,
Brazil, as a result of past-due payments,
according to a company statement that ICIS
obtained on Wednesday.
US HCl rises by 17% amid tight
supply
US hydrochloric acid (HCl)
prices climbed during the week as an
already thinly supplied market contended with
the disruptions of Hurricane Harvey and its
aftermath, according to the ICIS assessment on
Thursday.
US September OX contracts settle higher
following Hurricane Harvey
US orthoxylene (OX) contracts settled higher
for September following Hurricane Harvey’s
disruption of production and logistics in the
Gulf coast petrochemical sector earlier this
month, market sources confirmed on Friday.
