HOUSTON (ICIS)--US firm Cureton Midstream is planning a cryogenic gas processing plant in Colorado, US technologies and industrial major Honeywell said on Wednesday.

Honeywell won a turn-key contract from Cureton to supply the plant which will extract 99% of ethane and 100% of propane from natural gas in Weld County, Colorado, located in the Niobrara crude oil and gas basin.

The plant will use an advanced cycle recycle split vapor (RSV) process to recover natural gas liquids (NGLs) from residue gas for use as petrochemical feedstocks, increasing the value of feed gas supplied to Cureton by independent gas producers, Honeywell added.

Details about the plant’s capacities, costs or timelines for start-up were not disclosed.

Cureton is a Denver, Colorado-based midstream energy company that was founded last year. It has overseen projects and operations in Colorado, North Dakota, Utah, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana.
