prices are trading in a very wide price spread in some
grades, sources said on Friday.
Poland’s Ciech starts imports, sales
of Iranian polyolefins
Poland’s
CIECH Group said on Thursday it has started importing and
selling Iranian polyolefins.
Big drop expected for Europe styrene

market players are preparing for the 51st
European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) annual meeting in
Berlin this weekend, while waiting for the outcome of
October contract price negotiations on Friday, sources said
on Thursday.
EU chemical industry Reach fears
were unfounded – Spain’s
FEIQUE
European chemical
companies and trade groups alike were wrong about the
potential negative consequences that the EU’s chemical
regulation Reach could have in the industry, the
director general at Spain’s trade group FEIQUE said on
Wednesday.

Tightness in the
European cyclohexane (CX) market has led to an
upwards trend in quarterly contract prices this year. CX
delta contract prices have fluctuated for four years, with
periods of tightness and plentiful supply being reflected in
yearly pricing trends.
Europe Oct butadiene contract higher
than expected for some
The 16%
increase in the European butadiene (BD) contract reference
price for October was a bit higher than expected, according
to some market participants on Tuesday.
Euro lower on German election,
chemicals fear political
instability
The
lower-than-expected result obtained by German Chancellor
Angela Merkel’s party in Sunday’s general election in
Germany, along with the rise of the far-right,
pushed the euro lower on Monday trading, as the necessary
coalition talks to form a stable government may prove
tedious.
EU regulator pleads again for
chemical firms to ‘proactively’ engage – ECHA
chief
The EU’s chemical
regulator has asked chemical companies yet again to
“proactively” engage with the substances registration process
and updates of already registered chemicals before it “takes
a decision” on those firms ignoring the Reach regulation
requirements, according to the executive director at the
European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
