HOUSTON (ICIS)–HB Fuller has completed the acquisition of Royal Adhesives & Sealants for $1.575bn, the US-based adhesives, sealants and specialty chemicals firm said on Sunday.

HB Fuller last month announced an agreement to acquire the US specialty adhesives and sealants producer, which operates 19 manufacturing facilities in five countries.

The acquisition of Royal Adhesives & Sealants expands HB Fuller’s product offering in engineering, durable assembly and construction adhesives and makes it a major supplier of adhesives for insulating glass and commercial roofing applications.

“We complement each other, selling in adjacent markets with very little customer overlap, and that presents an interesting number of growth opportunities,” said Ted Clark, CEO of Royal Adhesives & Sealants. “We offer different technologies, expertise and capabilities.”

HB Fuller will begin its three-year integration, including leveraging $15m in growth synergies and $35m in cost synergies, it said.
