Production of polymer products in Russia increased by 3.8% in January-September

MOSCOW (MRC)--Russia's output of products from polymers decreased in by 2.2% month on month in September, however, production grew by 3.8% year on year when looking at the first nine months of the year, according to MRC analysts on Thursday.

According to the Russian Federal State Statistics Service,  production of unreinforced and noncombined films increased to 99,100 tonnes in September, compared to 98,000 tonnes in August 2017, while output of films products grew in January-September 2017 by 5.9% year on year to 798,100 tonnes.

September production of porous boards, sheets and polymer films amounted to 26,700 tonnes, whereas this figure was 26,200 tonnes a month earlier. Total production of these polymer products increased by 11% year on year in the first nine months of 2017 to 200,700 tonnes.

September production of plates and porous sheets decreased to 26,700 tonnes, compared with 31,300 tonnes a month earlier. Nevertheless, during the first nine months of the year, the output of these products increased by 11% - up to 250,000 tonnes.

Production of plastic bottles dropped to 15.7bn units, compared to 16.1bn units in August. The output of these plastic products increased by 17% and accounted to 14.9bn units in the nine months of the year.

September production of polymer pipes and fittings decreased to 58,000 tonnes from 60,500 tonnes a month earlier. Overall output of these products totalled 416,800 tonnes in the first nine months of 2017, down by 2.3% year on year.
