According to the letter, the company will lift its force majeure on PE production from its Matagorda, Chocolate Bayou, Victoria and LaPorte plants in Texas.

The company had declared force majeure on PE from the plants on 28 August, owing to Hurricane Harvey’s impact on the US Gulf coast.

LyondellBasell’s Chocolate Bayou plant can produce 218,000 tonnes/year of high density polyethylene (HDPE). The company can produce 871,000 tonnes/year of HDPE at Matagorda and 261,000 tonnes/year of HDPE at Victoria. Its LaPorte plant can produce 110,000 tonnes/tear of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and 272,000 tonnes/year of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE).
