CP Chem celebrates start-up of new US PE units in Texas

HOUSTON (ICIS)–US-based Chevron Phillips Chemical (CP Chem) on Friday celebrated the start-up of its new polyethylene (PE) units in Old Ocean, Texas.

The 1m tonne/year facility produces a wide range of PE including metallocene linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and bi-modal resins for film and pipe products.

CP Chem announced the project in 2011 and broke ground in 2014.

In September, the company announced that it has successfully completed commissioning the units and had begun start-up.

CP Chem hosted a ceremony at the site on Friday.
