MOSCOW (MRC)–Imports of unmixed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) into Kazakhstan dropped in January-October by 6% year on year to 45,500 tonnes, according to MRC analysts.

Imports of unmixed PVC to Kazakhstan slightly increased in October, reaching 3,800 tonnes compared to 3,400 tonnes a month earlier.

Thus, overall imports of resin reached 45,500 tonnes in the first ten months of 2017 compared to 48,400 tonnes a year earlier.

Due to the geographical position, Chinese producers with a share of around 91% of the local market over the stated period, are the main suppliers of PVC to Kazakhstan.

But some Russian producers have begun to enter the Kazakh market more actively for the past several months, with imports of resin exceeding 4,000 tonnes in the first ten months of the year.
