A Stockholm arbitration court has ordered Russian supplier Gazprom pay Ukraine’s incumbent Naftogaz damages of $4.63bn for undelivered gas, a Naftogaz spokeswoman said shortly after the decision on Wednesday evening.
Gazprom will be required to make a net payment of $2.56bn to Naftogaz under the verdict of the four-year transit dispute.
The Naftogaz spokeswoman said the tribunal had also rejected Gazprom’s claim for penalties for gas transit volumes that it alleged had been unlawfully offtaken by Naftogaz.
Gazprom had not responded to a request for comment by time of publication. email@example.com
