MOSCOW (MRC)–European producers have reduced their low density polyethylene (LDPE) prices for August shipments to the CIS markets despite the rollover in the feedstock ethylene contract price, according to ICIS-MRC Price report.

On the back of the ethylene price stability, most European producers announced a rollover for  high density polyethylene (HDPE) prices for August, from July, but LDPE prices went down.

Deals for August shipments of European LDPE have been negotiated in the range of €1,045-1,090/tonne FCA, up from an average in July of €1,100/tonne FCA.

Negotiations over August HDPE shipments were held in the range of €1,080-1,155/tonne FCA (free carrier), which virtually corresponded to July prices.

European producers had no major restrictions on August shipments, despite shutdowns for maintenance at a number of plants.

Prices of black polyethylene (PE) 100 remained unchanged with a few exceptions.

Deals for August deliveries have been discussed in the range of €1,360-1,415/tonne FCA.
