MOSCOW (MRC)–Imports of suspension polyvinyl chloride (SPVC) into Ukraine decreased by 36% in the first ten months of 2018, year on year, to 57,100 tonnes, according to MRC DataScope.

The decrease in imports came as local producer Karpatneftekhim resumed work after years of shutdown.

Most of the PVC sent to Ukraine during the period came from the US, with 34,000 tonnes exported, compared to 44,600 tonnes a year earlier.

European PVC shipments into Ukraine stood at 21,800 tonnes, down from 29,400 tonnes a year earlier.

MRC, a partner of ICIS, produces polymers news and pricing reports from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
