MOSCOW (MRC)–Neftekhim Ltd, Kazakhstan’s only polypropylene (PP) producer, has resumed PP production after a forced shutdown in late November, according to the ICIS-MRC Price report.

The plant’s customers said the Kazakh producer had resumed production by 12 December after the forced outage which started in late November.

The shutdown was caused by technical issues at the Pavlodar refinery, leading to suspension of shipments of feedstock for PP production.

Neftekhim Ltd  produces methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) and polypropylene (PP), the latter with an annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes/year.
