MOSCOW (MRC)–Russia’s polyolefins producer Stavrolen has resumed production of high density polyethylene (HDPE) after an unscheduled one-week outage, according to an ICIS-MRC Price report.

The company resumed production on 19 February, according to sources, after an unexpected issue prompted the facility’s shutdown on 12 February.

The facility’s polypropylene (PP) production was not shut, although capacity utilisation was reduced.

Stavrolen, a subsidairy of Lukoil, has the capacity to produce 120,000 tonnes/year of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and 300,000 tonnes/year of HDPE.

MRC, a partner of ICIS, produces polymers news and pricing reports from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
