SAN ANTONIO (ICIS)–The ITC fire has impacted truck logistics for US butadiene (BD) buyers, sources said on the sidelines of this year’s International Petrochemical Conference (IPC).

“Truck customers are out of luck,” a source said, but added that other logistics appear to be fine.

Despite any potential logistics impacts, however, supply is ample.

“It feels shorter than last month, but it’s still long,” a source said.

Supply is plentiful across regions, and even Europe appears to have material for April despite planned and unplanned constraints.

Meanwhile, demand is steady to soft with market players watching the downtrend in Asia.

Major US BD producers include ExxonMobil, LyondellBasell, Shell Chemical and TPC Group.

Hosted by the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM), the IPC takes place on 24-26 March in San Antonio, Texas.
