Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemicals has acquired Carbolabs of the US, a manufacturer of an extensive line of over 500 organic isocyanates, amines and chloroformates which will supplement the fine organic chemicals line produced by Aldrich Chemical and marketed by Sigma Aldrich Fine Chemicals.
Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemicals said it is now in a position to provide these raw materials for a broad range of pharmaceutical, polymer and fine chemical applications.
'With the addition of Carbolabs, our industrial customers can expect a smooth transition in the transfer of Carbolabs' technology to the large-scale manufacturing facilities of Aldrich,' said Joe Malik, Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemicals organic marketing manager.
'Carbolabs' extensive expertise in the manufacture of isocyanates and phosgene derivatives and Aldrich's expertise in scale-up and custom manufacturing make this acquisition of benefit to our customers,' he added.
