LONDON (CNI)--Anglo Dutch group Shell Chemicals confirmed on Thursday it has declared force majeure on supplies of epichlorohydrin (ECH) and allyl chloride from its Pernis, The Netherlands plant due to production problems.

A spokeswoman said Shell declared force majeure on the two products on 29 May, but has enough resin stocks in the supply chain to meet customer demand.

"There is a general shortage of ECH and resins on the market," she added.

No further details of Shell's ECH and allyl chloride production at Rotterdam were immediately available.
