LONDON (CNI)--Germany's BASF and Brazil's state-owned oil company Petrobras plan to build a $300m (Euro316m) acrylic acid complex in the Brazilian state of Sao Paolo.
Due onstream in 2003, the complex would include a 160 000 tonne/year acrylic acid unit and would supply the South American market, a BASF spokeswoman said Monday.
A feasibility study for the project starts immediately, she said. It has not yet been decided what stake the partners would have in the project or exactly where it will be located, she added.
