LONDON (CNI)--German specialty chemicals producer Degussa and compatriot high throughput experimentation company HTE said Wednesday they are to collaborate on the development of catalysts for end users.
HTE will access Degussa's portfolio of both commercial and proprietary catalysts for evaluation in both projects with selected third parties and internal development programmes.
Johannes Ohmer, Degussa's vice president for catalysts, said: "We are confident that HTE will identify novel applications of Degussa materials, and develop modified or improved materials."
The companies said the partnership will enable advances at HTE to be swiftly scaled to commercial applications.
Dirk Demuth, HTE's managing director for Europe, said: "Degussa has a broad variety of specialty catalysts and catalytic materials and an impressive track record in development of customised products as well as in streamlined scale-up of catalyst fabrication and implementation."
Degussa produces a range of catalyst supports, catalyst precursors and catalytic materials, with strong positions in areas such as hydrogenation for fine and specialty chemicals processes.
