Tarpley resigns as JLM Industries COO after nine months

HOUSTON (CNI)--Walter Tarpley has resigned as vice president and chief operating officer (COO) of commodity and specialty chemicals producer JLM Industries after less than nine months on the job, the company said Friday.

John Macdonald, chairman of Tampa, Florida-based JLM Industries, said Sean Macdonald has been promoted "and will assume Tarpley's duties relative to JLM Marketing, a subsidiary of JLM Industries."

Macdonald did not return telephone calls seeking additional information.

Said Macdonald in a statement: "Walt has been a valued colleague and has made a substantial contribution while at JLM. We are pleased that he will continue in a consulting capacity and will remain as a member of the board of directors."

JLM Industries is an international marketer and distributor of performance chemicals, olefins, petrochemicals, engineered resins and plastics.
