Akzo Nobel Polymer Chemicals

Akzo Nobel Polymer Chemicals will increase the price of the following products and their dilutions on April 1: Perkadox AIBN (2,2’Azobis(isbutyronitrile)) by 54c. per pound; Perkadox AMBN-GR (2,2-Azobis(2-methylbutyronitrile) by 71c. per pound; Trigonox B (di-t-butyl peroxide) by 20c. per pound; Laurox (laroyl peroxide) by 45c. per pound; Perkadox 16S by $1.19 per pound; Perkadox 16-W40 (t-butyl cyclohexal peroxydicarbonate) by 64c. per pound; Perkadox 12 AX 25 (2,2-di(4,4-di(tert-butylperoxy)cyclohexyl)pro-pane) by $1.22 per pound; Perkadox SE -10 (didecanoyl peroxide) by 52c. per pound; Trigonox 36 (di(3,5,5 -trimethylhexanoyl)peroxide) by 64c. per pound; all t-butyl peroxyesters by 38c. per pound and t-amyl peroxyesters by 50c. per pound sold under the trade name Trigonox.

BASELL

Basell will raise prices by €70 ($92.32) per metric ton for all polypropylene and polyethylene grades sold in Europe on April 1.

BASF

BASF will raise prices for nylon engineering plastics in the US and Canada on April 1. Ultramid standard nylon resins rise 15c. per pound, including all grades previously sold under the trade names Capron or Celanese. Ultramid specialty nylon resins will increase by at least 15c. per pound, depending on grade, including all grades previously sold under the trade names Capron or Celanese, and Nypel recycled nylon resins will rise 15c. per pound.

CELANESE EMULSIONS

Celanese Emulsions will increase selling prices for all of Mowilith emulsion (wet basis) and Vinamul (wet basis) grades on April 15 or as contracts allow. Acrylic-based and styrene-acrylic-based emulsions will go up by 10 to 15 percent. VAM-based emulsions will rise 5 to 10 percent.

CL Industrial Products

CL Industrial Products increased prices for its range of clear brine fluids on March 16. Prices for 52 percent bulk calcium bromide rose 40c. per pound, and bulk zinc-calcium bromide rose 65c. per pound.

DOW CHEMICAL Company

Dow Chemical Company’s epoxy products and intermediates business will raise prices for brominated epoxy resins sold in the Pacific markets by $150 per metric ton on April 1. Additionally, Dow is aiming for an increase of ¥35 per kilogram for liquid epoxy resins and ¥25 per kilogram for brominated epoxy resins, solid epoxy resins and solid solution epoxy resins.

Dow Chemical Company

Dow Chemical Company is increasing prices for all Ucar solution vinyl resin products sold in the Asia Pacific region by 15 to 40 percent, depending on the specific product grade, on April 1. Dow will raise North American prices for Versene chelating agents by 4c. per pound the same day. This increase will apply to all grades and forms of the following products: Versene 100, Versene 100 LN, Versene 100 XL, Versenex 80, Versenol 120, Versene Diammonium EDTA and Versene Tetraammonium EDTA.

DUREZ

Durez will increase selling prices for all grades of phenolic resins, effective April 1. The increase will be in a range of 6c. to 29c. per pound, according to the resin grade (liquid, solid, flake, powder, methylon) and raw material component.

Great Lakes Chemical

Great Lakes Chemical Corp. will raise global prices for all lines of industrial water additives products by 15 percent on April 1. These products include Belclene, Belsperse, Belcor, Bellasol, Belgard and Flocon polymeric and phosphonate antiscalants and corrosion inhibitors. The company is also increasing prices for bromine-based biocides BromiCide by 15 percent and LiquiBrom by 6c. to 8c. per pound.

Hercules

Hercules Inc.’s Aqualon will increase the price for mono and technical grades of pentaerythritol by 6c. per pound and dipentaerythritol by 10c. per pound on April 1.

KERR-McGEE CHEMICAL

Kerr-McGee Chemical LLC is, as of April 1, raising prices for Tronox titanium dioxide pigments. Prices are rising 5c. per pound in North America, €110 per metric ton in Europe, $150 per metric ton in the Middle East and Africa, and $100 per metric ton in Asia and the Pacific area, excluding Japan.

NIACET

Niacet Corp. is increasing calcium and sodium propionates by 8c. per pound and sodium acetates by 3c. per pound on April 1.

Noveon

Noveon is increasing prices of all Estane thermoplastic polyurethanes by 18c. per pound on April 1.

Reilly Industries

Reilly Industries Inc. increased the price of both Niacinamide (USP and feed-grade) by 15 to 20 percent on March 1. On April 1, Reilly will increase global prices of Pyridines and Alpha Picolines by 5 to 15 percent, and specialty chemicals by 10 to 20 percent.

Rhodia Polyamide

Rhodia Polyamide Corp. will increase prices of adipic acid by 6c. per pound effective April 1.

SARTOMER COMPANY

Sartomer Company will increase the list and off-list prices of its Norsolene hydrocarbon resins by 6c. per pound as of May 1.

Solvay Fluorides

Solvay Fluorides will increase prices for anhydrous hydrogen flouride by 5c. per pound and dilutions of hydrofluoric acid (HF) by 4c. per pound for HF 70 percent solution and 3c. per pound for HF 49 percent solution, effective immediately or on April 15 for customers of record.

Ticona

Ticona will raise the price of Celanex polybutylene terephthalate, Riteflex thermoplastic elastomer, Vandar thermoplastic blends and Celcon acetal copolymer (specialty grades only) by 7c. per pound. The price of Impet polyethylene terephthalate will rise by 8c. per pound. Prices for polyurethane and special fiber grades of Celstran long-fiber reinforced thermoplastics will increase by 10c. per pound, while polypropylene grades of Celstran will incur a 20c. per pound surchage. All increases take effect on shipments as of April 15.
