The move, announced at ChemSpec Europe 2005 in Düsseldorf, provides manufacturers of biologics with a single interface to the two companies’ separation media, processes and systems.
The alliance offers bio-purification solutions from lab to industrial scale, a Novasep spokeswoman said. Novasep Process has expertise in process development, modelling and the implementation of global processes, including batch and continuous chromatography, ion exchange, and membrane technologies, she said.
Rohm and Haas Advanced Biosciences contributes extensive experience in polymer chemistry and functional beads, and it has the capacity to develop, manufacture and supply superior performance separation media that increase purity and yield, lower production costs and facilitate regulatory compliance.
Groupe Novasep president and chief executive Roger-Marc Nicoud said: “We believe that by working together and leveraging technologies and competencies, we can address needs of the biopharmaceutical market and serve a broader range of customers.”
Groupe Novasep is headquartered in Pompey, France. Rohm and Haas is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
