Foster Wheeler to oversee work on Thai aromatics plant

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Foster Wheeler said on Monday that Aromatics (Thailand) Public Company (ATC) has selected it to manage construction of ATC’s Reformer and Aromatics Complex II at Map Ta Phut, Thailand.

The terms of the award were not disclosed.

Bermuda-based Foster Wheeler will coordinate the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases of the project, scheduled for completion in 2008.

The engineering, procurement and construction contract for Complex II has been awarded to a consortium of Korean contractors. A Thai company will build interconnecting pipelines.

The facilities will produce 565,000 tonne/year of paraxylene, 301,000 tonne/year of benzene and 60,000 tonne/year of toluene.
