HOUSTON (ICIS news)--DuPont set a list price of $1,410 (Euro1,165)/tonne, cost and freight basis, for exports of bulk acrylonitrile to Asia, the company said on Wednesday.

The list price is effective immediately and is valid through 31 January, when prices of raw materials may change, a DuPont source said. A new price will be issued each month, reflecting the change of all variables involved.

DuPont will tell customers that the price was set through a transparent procedure, taking in consideration the price or raw materials or ingredients price plus a premium of 10.5 cents/pound to cover for variable costs and company profit, the DuPont source said. It was not clear if customers would accept the set price.

The ingredients price is based on published US market indices for propylene and ammonia. Raw materials have showed greater volatility in recent weeks due to the run up in crude prices.
