SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan’s July domestic contract price for propylene was settled $5/tonne down from June at $1,024/tonne DEL (delivered) largely due to a softening in ?xml:namespace>
July US contract prices for polymer grade propylene dropped by 1.5 cents/lb to 52 cents/lb
June domestic propylene contract prices were reported at $1,029/tonne
Conversely the recent spot market in northeast Asia rebounded by $80-100/tonne in July as a result of strong Chinese demand, following a shutdown at Shanghai Petrochemical’s 700,000 tonne/year cracker on 10 July, traders and Chinese buyers said.
Also firming were third-quarter prices in Europe, which rose by €28/tonne to €878/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest
The contract price is also known to be used in various contract settlements in southeast Asia.
