LONDON (ICIS news)--A newly completed gas pipelines between Norway and the UK will provide secure feedstock for the Fife ethylene plant and the petrochemical units based in Grangemouth, a Shell spokesman said on Tuesday.
The Shell UK, Esso Exploration and Production UK said in a joint statement it had completed the pipeline, which linked
“Wet gas contains not only natural dry gas used to power homes and business, but also natural gas liquids, which are essential feedstock for the chemicals industry,” the statement said.
“Some product is transferred to the ExxonMobil Chemical limited operated at Fife ethylene plant,” the statement said.
A spokesman confirmed that gas would be used as a feedstock for chemical production at Grangemouth.
