US Berry Plastics to buy Captive for $500m

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US firm Berry Plastics has entered into an agreement to acquire for $500m (€350m) the parent company of Captive Plastics, the companies said on Friday.

If approved, the deal should close in the first quarter, the companies said.

Berry Plastics makes and markets plastic packaging. It has 58 plants throughout the world.

Berry Plastics is owned by Apollo Management and Graham Partners.

Captive makes blow-moulded bottles and injection-moulded closures for such end markets as food, healthcare, spirits and personal care.

Captive operates 13 plants in the US.

The parent company of Captive Plastics, Captive Holdings, is owned by First Atlantic Capital.
