LONDON (ICIS news)--LyondellBasell will provide the process technology for a new 300,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant for PetroChina's Daqing Refinery and Chemical Company, the chemical major said on Friday.

The new plant will be built at Daqing in Heilongjiang province and start-up is expected in 2010, the company said.

“This is PetroChina’s ninth polyolefin licence from LyondellBasell in this decade,” the company added in a statement.

The Daqing plant will be the 11th to be built worldwide using the former Basell's Spherizone technology, the statement added.

No financial details were disclosed.
