HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US specialty-chemicals producer Chemtura has sold its fluorochemicals business to DuPont, the company said on Friday.

The sale includes Chemtura's plant in El Dorado, Arkansas, which is about 120 miles (193 km) south of Little Rock. Chemtura did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.

Chemtura's fluorochemicals business had revenues of $56m (€38m) in 2006, the company said.

The sale is the latest among several that Chemtura has made, as the company continues to trim its portfolio.

"We are actively divesting non-core businesses and assets to enable us to better focus on our core businesses," said Robert Wood, Chemtura chief executive.

Chemtura completed the sale of its organic peroxides business in May, its ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM business in June and its optical monomers business in October.
