SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Idemitsu Petrochemical has raised its Asian contract price for April paraxylene (PX) by $170/tonne (€109/tonne) to $1,340/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Asia due to higher crude and raw material costs, a company source said on Tuesday.
The hike was in line with increases by other producers. Both ExxonMobil and Nippon Oil had proposed a $160/tonne hike to $1,330/tonne for April. March settlements were at $1,170/tonne.
