SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--Sinopec subsidiary Beijing Yanshan Co plans a month-long turnaround of its reformer and aromatic unit at the end of March, said a company source on Thursday.

The aromatic unit produces 3,000 tonnes/month of benzene and 6,000 tonnes/month toluene, said the source, adding that its toluene has been used for blending in gasoline production since November 2007, and xylene is for captive use.

Downstream producers and traders said the shutdown would have minimum impact on the north China spot aromatic market, as it only supplies a small amount to the region.
