NPRA '08: ARG to run north within days - INEOS

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (ICIS news)--Northern flow on Europe’s ARG pipeline from where it caught fire at the INEOS Olefins plant in Cologne, Germany, should resume in the next couple of days, INEOS Olefins CEO Tom Crotty said on Sunday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 33rd National Petrochemical Refiners Association (NPRA) meeting, Crotty said that the Aethylene Rohrleitungs Gesellschaft (ARG) pipeline company was working on resuming flow through the line, which links crackers in Germany and northwest Europe.

Ethylene flow south from Cologne could be resumed in the next couple of weeks, Crotty added.

Crotty confirmed that the Cologne cracker, one of INEOS Olefins' six ethylene plants in Europe, was running at 80% of capacity and would reach close to full operating rates when northern flow through the ARG was resumed.
