LONDON (ICIS news)--The urea unit at Ruwais Fertilizer Industries (Fertil) in Abu Dhabi remains down and technical repairs are taking longer than scheduled, a company source said on Monday.

However, it pushed back the restart date to 17 April after remedial work ran over schedule.
No further details, including the nature of the technical issues or the reasons for the delay, were disclosed.
Fertil’s 1,200 tonne/day ammonia unit was also shut down on 3 April for repair work, but this work was completed on time with the plant restarted on Sunday and now operating at normal rates.
Fertil’s urea unit was originally supposed to be shut down from 14 April, but this was moved forward to 3 April after it was hit by unplanned problems.
Fertil previously said that its contract customers would not be severely impacted by the outages although some delays were likely.
