LONDON (ICIS news)--Iran Petrochemical Commercial Co (IPCC) expects to bring its Razi II ammonia unit back onstream early next week, a company official said on Wednesday.
The 950 tonne/day facility at Bandar Imam Khomeini (BIK) on the Gulf was shut down for repair work last week, although the details of the work were not disclosed.
The work was originally scheduled for May, but was brought forward due to weaker ammonia demand.
However, with contract customers scheduled to load six-to-seven vessels in May and June, IPCC’s need for ammonia for contractual obligations has now picked up again.
The company source did note that if the restart of the Razi II unit was delayed it may have to shift production at its 950 tonne/day Razi I unit temporarily, to concentrate on ammonia rather than urea.
IPCC has three ammonia plants at BIK with a total capacity of around 3,700 tonnes/day.
