TORONTO (ICIS news)--Braskem has started up a 350,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant at Paulinia in Sao Paulo state, the Brazil petrochemicals major said on Friday.

The reais (R) 700m ($420m) plant boosted Braskem’s overall annual PP production capacity to 1.1m tonnes/year, further strengthening its market leadership in ?xml:namespace>
The project was the first of its PP plants to use propylene from refinery gas as feedstock, it added.
