SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Over 60,000 injured people have been rescued in earthquake-stricken Sichuan province in southwest China as infrastructure was also being restored, state media said on Thursday.

Telecommunication cables connecting Wenchuan county in Sichuan - which bore the brunt of Monday’s quake - with the rest of the country had been repaired and fixed-line as well as mobile phone operations had resumed operations, said Xinhua news agency.

Meanwhile, the China Seismological Bureau said 119 aftershocks, measuring over 4 on the Richter scale, had been felt in Wenchuan as of Thursday morning following Monday's 7.9-magnitude quake.
