LONDON (ICIS news)--Almost 20,000 people are known to have been killed in Monday’s devastating earthquake in ?xml:namespace>
The official death toll has now risen to over 19,500, according to official news agency Xinhua.
More than 25,000 people remain buried while another 14,000 were still missing, it said.
A massive search and rescue operation involving almost 100,000 relief workers and more than 900 soldiers was still underway on Thursday.
