SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China-based Yankuang Group restarted its 300,000 tonne/year acetic acid plant on Wednesday and was gradually increasing operating rates, a company source said.

Yankuang shut down the plant, located in Tengzhou city in the eastern Chinese province of Shandong, on 15 May due to a scheduled maintenance.

On-spec products would be achieved on Thursday, he added.

Acetic acid soared by yuan (CNY) 300-450/tonne from last week to CNY 6,000-6,300/tonne ex-tank east China on ongoing tight supply, traders said.
