SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--PetroChina subsidiary Lanzhou Petrochemical plans to shut down its 240,000 tonne/year No 1 cracker in China’s Gansu province for a 20-day maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.
The turnaround would start on 20 August and would last until 10 September, the source added.
Its derivative units including a 170,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene (HDPE) and a 60,000 tonne/year linear low density PE (LLDPE)/HDPE swing plant would also be shut down during the maintenance period, he said.
The firm’s 40,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) facility had been shut down since 10 June as its feedstock propylene had been diverted for use in the company’s new 80,000 tonne/year acrylic acid unit, he added.
The company also planned to turn around its 520,000 tonne/year urea unit at the same time.
Lanzhou Petrochemical’s 460,000 tonne/year No 2 cracker and its derivative plants including a 200,000 tonne/year low density PE (LDPE) plant, a 300,000 tonne/year LLDPE/HDPE swing plant and a 300,000 tonne/year PP unit at the same site would function normally during the period.
