LONDON (ICIS news)--James Flitterling has been named as CEO of Dow Chemical and Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC) of Kuwait’s $11bn proposed 50:50 joint venture, the two firms said on Tuesday.
The new company, to be named K-Dow Petrochemicals (KDP), would be headquartered in a yet to be named city in Michigan, subject to local regulatory approvals expected in late 2008, the statement said.
The total number of employees located at the headquarter's site was expected to expand up to 800 employees over the next few years, it added.
Fitterling is currently the business group president of Dow Basic Plastics and a member of the company's management committee and business operations committee.
He would become CEO when the joint venture began operations, the statement said.
The venture will manufacture and market polyethylene (PE), ethyleneamines, ethanolamines, polypropylene (PP), and polycarbonate and related licensing and catalyst technologies.
