SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China-based JianFeng Chemicals has restarted its 30,000 tonne/year melamine plant and is ramping up its operating rate, a company source said on Tuesday.
"The operating rate is ramping up and the plant is running well. On-spec products have been produced, so sales will resume soon," the source added in Mandarin.
The plant was shut down on 28 June due to a shortage of natural gas feedstock, and restarted around 14 August, three days before schedule as feedstock supply had resumed, the source said.
The company, in southwestern Chongqing city, had recently signed a joint venture agreement with Austria’s Agrolinz Melamine International to build a new melamine plant.
Melamine is used in the construction and furniture industries.
