HOUSTON (ICIS news)--BASF/Atofina said on Friday it would start up cracking furnace number nine at its Port Arthur olefins complex in Texas.

The company said the unit has been down due to a “baffling project on the SCR system” per a regulatory filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). More details were not provided.

Under the filing the process is scheduled to be completed on 27 August.

BASF/Atofina’s capacity in Port Arthur is 936,000 tonnes/year.
