SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Indonesian oil and gas major Pertamina has shut down its 2,100 tonnes/month slackwax unit in Cilacap for repairs due to problems in its filter, a company source said on Wednesday.
The source added that there were problems in filtering crude oil during slack wax production, and it was unknown when the hitch would be resolved.
Slack wax, a feedstock for paraffin wax, is solvent-refined to remove the excess oil and produce fully-refined paraffin wax with around 0.5% oil content, and semi-refined grades of 0.5-1.5%.
