BMGL to complete sodium bicarb plant in 2009

NEW DELHI (ICIS news)-- Brunner Mond Group Limited (BMGL) will complete its 50,000 tonne/year sodium bicarbonate plant at Northwich East in England by early 2009, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The plant would produce a special grade of sodium bicarbonate that is used in flue gas treatment system installed in chemical, glass, metal and similar process industries.

BMGL already produces this grade in the UK and market its under the brand Briskarb. It also produces other special grades for use in pharmaceuticals, animal feed and other sectors.

In June, TCL had announced commissioning of a 50,000 tonne/year pharma- and food-grade sodium bicarbonate plant by BMGL at Delfzijl in the Netherlands.
