HONG KONG (ICIS news)--Taiwan’s Tuntex Petrochemical will shut its 440,000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at Tainan for about a month in October, a company source said Friday.
“The maintenance is a major one, and would last almost the full month,” said the source.
The company did carry out a minor maintenance shutdown of the plant in southern Taiwan “for about five days in early August”, said the source, and was now operating the unit at near 100% of nameplate capacity.
Tuntex is the smallest PTA producer in ?xml:namespace>
Other Taiwanese PTA makers include China American Petrochemical Co, Formosa Chemical & Fiber Corp and Invista Far Eastern Petrochemical.
