SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Asahi Kasei Co, Japan’s largest producer of styrene monomer (SM), plans to restart its No 3 plant next Monday as scheduled, a company source said on Tuesday.

The 390,000 tonne/year plant, located in Mizushima, was taken offline around mid-October for a turnaround.
The company operates another 320,000 tonne/year No 2 unit on the same site. The unit is operating at around 75% capacity amid weak demand in ?xml:namespace>

Other Japanese SM producers include Asahi Kasei Corp, Idemitsu Kosan Co, Nihon Oxirane Co and Mitsubishi Chemicals.
