SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Giordano Righini will retire as head of plastic additives business at Ciba effective 31 December and will not be replaced as a result of the takeover by BASF, the Swiss specialty chemical firm said on Tuesday.
"Until the transaction with BASF is complete, John Frijns will assume Righini’s responsibilities while continuing to lead industry platform plastics," Ciba said in a statement.
BASF, the German chemical giant expects for the takeover to be completed in the first quarter of 2009.
