HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) exports were 193,900 tonnes in October, more than twice the amount than 95,370 tonnes reported for in September, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) said on Thursday.
US MTBE exports in October were up by about 7% from 181,860 tonnes one year earlier, the government said.
Mexico and Venezuela were the top destinations for US MTBE exports in October, evenly splitting a combined 90% of the shipments.
US MTBE exports in January-October were 1.59m tonnes, down by 14% from 1.86m tonnes in the same period of 2007.
