Romania's Amonil to cut 389 jobs, mulls production cuts

BUCHAREST (ICIS news)--Romanian fertilizer producer Amonil Slobozia is to cut 389 jobs - around 40 percent of its workforce - starting next month in order to reduce costs, the company said on Thursday.

"We also decided to partially cut production if we do not find customers for our fertilizers," a company source said.

No further details were available.

Majority owned by Eurotrading Chemicals (28%) and Zalois (25%), the company produces urea, ammonium nitrate, liquid fertilizers, technical liquefied oxygen and liquefied carbon dioxide.
