Dow to shut down Texas cracker for maintenance

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Dow Chemical has begun to shut down its LHC-8 cracker at Freeport, Texas for scheduled maintenance, the company said on Thursday.

The 998,000 tonne/year unit will be off line until 5 February, a company spokesperson said.

Dow has a second cracker, LHC-7, at Freeport with ethylene capacity of 612,000 tonnes/year.
