SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Thai Caprolactam is currently operating its 110,000 tonnes/year plant in Rayong, Thailand at 70% after an unplanned shutdown caused by technical glitch in late December, a company source said on Friday.

The plant, which had been restarted recently, is running low on inventories, the source added.

Thai Caprolactam sells 50% of its caprolactam to domestic buyers and the other half to countries across Asia.

Japan-based Ube, which controls more than 90% of Thai Caprolactam, is one of the world’s largest caprolactam producers.
